Ceasefire and Territorial Integrity of Ukraine

According to ТСН: A ceasefire in Ukraine is only possible along the actual line of demarcation at the time of the announcement of the ceasefire. Any official renunciation of Ukrainian territories is unacceptable and equates to treason.

This opinion was expressed by Colonel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Maksym Zhorin, deputy commander of the Third Army Corps.

“I do not see any other possible options for stopping hostilities, except along the section where troops will stand at the time of the ceasefire. I consider any official transfer of even a part of our territories to be state treason,” the military stated.

According to Zhorin, a halt in fire will not mean the final end of the conflict. He emphasized that the ceasefire will be temporary, so Ukraine should use this time to prepare for a possible aggravation of the situation.

“We have a Constitution, and we cannot give our lands to other states, even if their troops are temporarily there. And let’s not forget that the ceasefire will obviously be temporary and we will still have to prepare for further events,” he added.

The President of Ukraine also expressed doubt about the real willingness of the Kremlin to end the war on terms proposed by the United States of America.

Earlier, one of the strategic communications consultants emphasized that Ukraine should focus not on Article 5 of NATO, but on forming an alternative security framework, as dictator Putin cannot exist without war.

Overall, the expressed opinions of Colonel Zhorin and representatives of the Ukrainian authorities indicate that even in the case of achieving a ceasefire, the readiness for further actions remains an important aspect of national security. Currently, efforts are ongoing to find effective strategies to ensure Ukraine's territorial integrity in the face of constant threats from the aggressor.
