Not just a salary: what payments and bonuses military personnel can receive from May 1.
Financial support for Ukraine's defenders during wartime
Due to the war in Ukraine, a new financial support system has been implemented for the country's defenders. Every participant in military actions receives at least 21,000 hryvnias as a base salary, regardless of their combat experience.
According to government resolution No. 168 of February 28, 2022, a three-tier system of additional rewards has been established at the front lines. The highest sum of 100,000 hryvnias is awarded to participants of direct combat actions. There are also additional payments of 50,000 and 30,000 hryvnias for other categories of military personnel.
Separate bonuses are granted for destroyed or captured enemy equipment. The amounts range from 12,180 hryvnias for automotive equipment to 243,600 hryvnias for ships of various classes. To receive such bonuses, it is necessary to have appropriate documentary confirmation.
It has been researched that pension payments during service remain unchanged, which is also an important aspect of ensuring the country's defenders during an armed conflict.
