Devastation in Dnipro

According to UATV: On June 2, 2023, a large-scale Russian attack on the city of Dnipro resulted in 12 fatalities, among them two children, and left 37 people wounded. The assault, carried out during the night of June 2, caused partial destruction of several apartment buildings. This incident is another grim chapter in the ongoing conflict that has plagued Ukraine since 2014, highlighting the severe toll on civilian populations.

The strike partially demolished three multi-story residential blocks and damaged over 40 other homes. Currently, 22 victims are being treated in hospitals across the Dnipropetrovsk region, with four in critical condition. According to reports, the Russian military launched a massive combined attack, deploying 729 munitions.

Local Eyewitness Accounts

Residents have shared harrowing accounts of that night.

“When the first rocket hit, I woke up. When it hit a second time, the glass in my doors shattered,” recalled Lyudmila. Another witness, Volodymyr, described the scene: “The dormitory and the building next to it. The corner entrance was obliterated up to the second floor.”

This tragedy underscores the horrific impact of military operations on civilians. Authorities and emergency services are actively working to manage the aftermath and provide aid to those affected.

The event is part of the prolonged conflict in Ukraine, which began in 2014. Attacks on civilian infrastructure, such as the one in Dnipro, have drawn international concern and condemnation due to the immense harm inflicted on non-combatants. Affected cities and communities continue to call for support in rebuilding infrastructure and assisting those who have suffered losses from the war.
