Odesa Attack on March 28
According to Novyny.live: On March 28, Russian forces launched a drone assault on Odesa, striking residential areas and a maternity hospital. The attack resulted in two deaths and left twelve people injured.
Scale of the Attack
The assault was large-scale, involving over 60 drones. Among those affected were:
- 22 women who had recently given birth
- 19 newborns
- 11 medical staff members present at the maternity facility during the strike
Ihor Shpak, a healthcare worker, said: 'At 1:30 AM, a drone hit the building. The fourth floor houses the gynecology ward, where post-operative patients were staying. But everyone was evacuated to the shelter in time.'
The attack also caused extensive damage to private homes in Odesa, leaving a mark on both the city's infrastructure and the lives of its residents. As emergency teams worked at the scene, local authorities urged people to exercise caution and remain in shelters during air raid warnings.
This incident underscores the ongoing conflict in the region and its toll on civilians, who continue to bear the brunt of violence and aggression.
The shelling of Odesa on March 28 serves as yet another reminder of the escalating military actions in Ukraine, directly impacting the civilian population. The rising number of strikes on residential areas and medical facilities endangers the lives of ordinary people, including women and children. Authorities continue to call for vigilance, but the situation remains tense, drawing concern both domestically and internationally.
