The Netherlands will deliver F-16s to Ukraine: details.
The Netherlands will send F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine
The Netherlands will send F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine on May 26. This is the last of what the country has allocated. Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans announced in a broadcast on WNL.
“This means that all 24 promised fighter jets will soon be present in Ukraine,” he said.
Brekelmans emphasized that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin shows that he has no intention of seriously discussing a ceasefire. Therefore, it is important to continue to increase pressure on Moscow and provide support to Ukraine.
Preparation and delivery of fighter jets
According to the minister, the last Dutch F-16 will be officially delivered to Ukraine next week. “We are also training pilots and technicians and sharing our military doctrines so that Ukraine can build a modern armed force that corresponds to the forces of NATO member states,” Brekelmans added.
Let us recall that the United States delivered decommissioned F-16s to Ukraine, and an An-124 aircraft was used for their delivery.
Ukrainian F-16 fighter jets will have the capability to perform various tasks, including destroying drones, detecting and jamming enemy radar, and providing support in combating enemy air defense.
