Starting from 2026, the minimum wage for reserved workers will increase: new amounts and conditions.
Changes in the minimum wage level in Ukraine in 2026
According to ТСН: In 2026, an increase in the minimum wage level for employees with reservations is planned in Ukraine. If employees do not meet this condition, they may lose their reservation.
As of December 2025, the minimum accrued monthly salary cannot be lower than 20,000 UAH. This amount is calculated as 2.5 times the minimum wage in effect in 2025 (8,000 UAH × 2.5). It is important to note that the date of income accrual is significant, not the moment of payment. This means that even if the salary for December is accrued in January, it must meet the limit of 20,000 UAH.
“The main thing is that the accrued amount for December is not less than the established minimum,” they note.
In January 2026, the minimum wage for an employee with a reservation will be 21,617.50 UAH. This requirement will be in effect throughout 2026.
It is important to note that this amount is accrued, i.e., the gross salary, and includes not only the basic salary but also all other payments that are part of the payroll (bonuses, allowances, etc.). Failure to meet this requirement may lead to the cancellation of the reservation.
Earlier, the Ministry of Economy explained potential aspects of the immediate and irrevocable selection of deferments for employees of critically important enterprises.
These innovations indicate a change in approaches to wage payment in Ukraine, especially for those who have reservations in important sectors. The increase in minimum wages amid economic challenges may become an important step to support employees and stimulate the country's economy.
