Mercedes-Benz has introduced a new electric GLB: 630 km range and artificial intelligence.
According to Korrespondent.net: Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the latest generation of the compact crossover GLB, now available in a fully electric version. Despite retaining its recognizable silhouette, changes have affected nearly every aspect, including technical specifications, interior design, and lighting. Initially, only electric models are available for sale, although hybrids are planned for the future.
Technical specifications and modifications
Consumers are offered two versions at the start. The GLB 250+ with EQ technology is equipped with an 85 kWh battery and operates on an 800-volt architecture. The rear electric motor delivers 268 hp and 335 Nm of torque, with a temporary boost capability to 454 Nm. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 7.4 seconds, and the range is 630 km on a single charge.
The higher modification is the GLB 350 4Matic, which has received a second electric motor on the front axle for all-wheel drive. The total power is 349 hp and 515 Nm, and acceleration to 100 km/h is reduced to 5.5 seconds. The range is approximately 615 km, which is a compromise for increased performance. Next year, a more affordable electric modification is planned, followed by a 48-volt hybrid.

Design and dimensions
The design of the new GLB has undergone significant changes. The front end features a large grille, headlights with characteristic LED 'star' elements, and a light strip across the entire width. The most discussed detail is the rear end, inspired by the EQXX concept: vertical taillights combined with a thin LED strip create a star motif.
The car has become larger: the length is now 4732 mm, which is 48 mm longer than the EQB and almost 100 mm longer than the previous model GLB. The width has increased to 1861 mm, while the height has decreased to 1687 mm. The wheelbase has also changed significantly: 2889 mm, which is 60 mm longer than in previous versions, improving passenger space in the second row. The trunk capacity is 667 liters, plus 127 liters in the front compartment. Maneuverability has decreased somewhat: the turning radius has increased to 11.9 m.
Interior and technology
The GLB's interior has undergone significant changes. For the first time, the model can be equipped with a signature Superscreen panel: a 10.25-inch screen in front of the driver, a 14-inch central screen, and another 14-inch display for the passenger. The interior is designed in a minimalist style, characteristic of the latest Mercedes models. The car operates on the fourth generation of the MBUX system with support for artificial intelligence from Microsoft and Google, while the virtual assistant is based on ChatGPT-4o technology. The infotainment system uses the Unity engine, opening new opportunities for more complex visual interfaces.
Pricing policy
Currently, prices are known only for Germany. The GLB 250+ starts at €59,048, while the GLB 350 4Matic costs from €62,178.
The new electric Mercedes-Benz GLB is presented as an important addition to the company's lineup of compact SUVs. Considering the growing demand for electric vehicles, this crossover promises to meet the needs of environmentally conscious drivers. Additional modifications and hybrid versions are waiting for their time, showcasing Mercedes-Benz's commitment to expanding its range of electric vehicles.
