New Defense Course of Sweden: Record Investments in Security Since the Cold War.

Sweden's profile has decided to place a greater emphasis on its defense, increasing spending to 3.5% of GDP. Ulf Kristersson, the Prime Minister of Sweden, stated that this is in response to new security challenges for the country and Europe. Kristersson emphasized that this is the largest military rearmament plan since the Cold War.

Currently, Sweden allocates over 2% of GDP to defense, but they consider this insufficient. The Swedish government is actively working towards achieving the target by the NATO summit to be held in The Hague. An increase in defense spending to 3.5% of GDP is planned by 2030, as well as the raising of loans amounting to approximately 300 billion Swedish krona.
