A Second-Grader Left Without Family or Home After Drone Strike on Odesa.
Massive Drone Attack Hits Odesa
According to Novyny.live: On March 28, a large-scale drone attack struck Odesa, leaving a second-grade boy injured, orphaned, and homeless. The child, who suffered a leg injury, is now hospitalized in stable condition. Authorities are actively searching for any surviving relatives while providing aid to victims. Svitlana Osaulenko, who is coordinating the search for the boy’s family, stated,
“He has nowhere to go.”
Aftermath of the Assault
Russian forces launched over 60 drones in the assault on Odesa, marking one of the most intense attacks on the city. At least 16 people were wounded, and two others were killed. In the Prymorskyi district, dozens of homes were damaged, along with a maternity hospital, schools, and residential buildings.
“More than a thousand windows were blown out—Odesa has never seen an attack like this,”Osaulenko reported.
A criminal investigation has been opened under war crimes statutes to probe the incident. Emergency teams continue to assist all affected residents, and efforts to locate the boy’s relatives remain a top priority. This drone strike is part of the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, which continues to cause severe human and material losses. The plight of the young survivor, now alone, highlights the war’s devastating impact on the most vulnerable. Meanwhile, the legal proceedings underscore Ukraine’s commitment to holding perpetrators accountable.
