Odesha is turning into a desert - ecologists raise alarm.
A real desert may appear in the Odesha region. According to experts' forecasts, by 2040 our region may turn into a desert. Today, the climate in Odesha is moderately continental with marine traits, but it is predicted to change to extremely dry, especially in the south.
Odesha will turn into a desert
An extremely dry climate is characterized by low humidity and minimal precipitation, where evaporation exceeds precipitation, leading to the formation of deserts and semi-deserts.
'By 2040, an extremely dry climate may establish in Odesha. This brings us closer to desertification. This is possible,' said climatologist and member of the National Academy of Sciences of the USA, Svitlana Krakowska.
We remind you that recently we wrote about the abnormal heat engulfing Europe. We also considered the possibility that Odesha could experience flooding, which could lead to the death of hundreds of thousands of people.
From the mentioned news, it becomes clear that according to experts' forecasts, the climate in Odesha may change to such an extent that the region could turn into a desert by 2040. There is a suggestion that similar changes may occur in the context of the general climate changes already observed in the world.Read also
