According to Novyny.live: Despite broader economic pressures, dairy prices at Odesa’s markets have remained unchanged for several weeks, drawing a positive response from shoppers. The standout item drawing the most consumer attention is fresh sheep cheese, which is rapidly gaining in popularity. This stability offers a rare bright spot for households navigating fluctuating costs in other sectors.
At the Noviy Bazar market, prices for various cheeses and dairy items include:
- Suluguni with additives – roughly 350 hryvnias per kilogram,
- Sheep cheese – roughly 350 hryvnias per kilogram,
- Goat cheese – roughly 350 hryvnias per kilogram,
- Bulgarian feta – about 300 hryvnias,
- Cow’s milk feta – 280 hryvnias,
- Butter – 500 hryvnias per kilogram,
- Sour cream – ranging from 160 to 250 hryvnias.
Compared to early February, March prices for dairy products have not shifted. However, low-fat cottage cheese saw a slight increase from 140 UAH/kg to 150 UAH/kg.
Price Movements in Other Food Categories
Elsewhere in the market, prices for other goods have experienced changes:
- Whole chicken – 145 UAH per kg,
- Turkey – between 280 and 350 UAH,
- Potatoes rose by 5 UAH, now starting at 30 UAH,
- Herring increased by 20 UAH, now priced at 100–130 UAH per piece,
- Caviar remains steady at 900 UAH per 100 grams.
