Occupiers advance in several directions, while the AFU have success near Chasiv Yar – ISW maps.
Ukrainian defense forces have regained previously lost positions south of Chasiv Yar. At the same Time, Russian troops continue to retreat in various directions. This was reported by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
AFU Operation on Russian Territory
On November 5, fighting occurred on the “Ukrainian bridgehead” in the Kursk region but there is no confirmation of advancement by the AFU or Russian forces.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Russian forces repelled Ukrainian counterattacks near Dariyno, Nizhniy Klyn, and Novoivanivka and continue to hold positions near Leonidovo and Plekhovo. An American “war correspondent” reports that the AFU are holding their positions near Novoivanivka and preparing for a counterattack.
No reports were made on the fighting in the Glushkovsky district on November 5.
Kharkiv
On November 4 and 5, Russian invaders continued attacks near Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region.
According to the spokesperson of the AFU brigade operating on the Kharkiv front, AFU artillery and drones are successfully targeting Russian tanks and armored vehicles, forcing the enemy to use infantry and even electric scooters in assault operations.
Luhansk
Recently, Russian troops advanced south of Kupiansk and northwest of Kreminna.
Geolocated images show that the occupiers continue to fall back towards Terny.
According to Russian sources, they advanced in the area of Kolisnykivka, but this information has not been confirmed by ISW.
According to the General Staff of the AFU, Russian troops continue to advance in several areas of Luhansk Oblast.
According to the spokesperson of the AFU brigade operating on the Kupiansk front, Russian troops have increased the number of ground attacks using fire assault units.
Donetsk
On November 5, Russian invaders attempted to attack northeast of Siversk in the Bilohorivka area but their attack was repelled.
Ukrainian defense forces and Russian occupiers continue to exchange control points south of Chasiv Yar. Ukrainian forces managed to restore their positions south of Chasiv Yar.
According to geolocated images, the AFU have restored their positions east of Stupochky (south of Chasiv Yar).
On November 4 and 5, Russian invaders continued to attack near Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, and Orikhovo-Vasylivka.
Ukrainian forces also reported Russian troop advancements on the Toretsk front. Geolocated images indicate the occupiers captured Druzhba (east of Toretsk).
The Russian General Staff approves attacks near Toretsk towards Kostiantynivka, near Dachne, Druzhba, Shcherbynivka, and Sukha Balka on November 4 and 5.
In a similar note, it is stated that Russian forces continue advances near Pokrovsk. Geolocated images show the occupiers captured Vyshneve and continue their advance south of Lysivka and beyond.
Russian invaders continue to attack in the area of Promin and Hrodovka, near Krutyi Yar, Novohrodivka, Selydove, Novooleksiivka, Vyshneve, Yurivka, and Hryhorivka.
“Southern Axis”
On November 5, Russian occupiers carried out minor attacks on southern points in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Geolocated images show that Russian forces moved closer to Novodanilivka.
On November 4, a Russian “war correspondent” reported moving Russian forces north of Nesteryanka, but this information was not confirmed by ISW.
The General Staff of the AFU reported that Russian occupiers continue attacks north of Robotyne near Novodanilivka and Orikhiv, as well as northwest of Robotyne near Novoandriivka and Mali Shcherbaky.
