Occupants in Berdiansk force schoolchildren to pledge allegiance to the Russian Federation under church 'blessing'.
In the city of Berdiansk, located in the Zaporizhzhia region, the occupants are forcing schoolchildren to take an oath of allegiance to the Russian army. According to the Berdiansk City Military Administration, even the church was involved in this ceremony. For the same purpose, the Russian occupying administration and the 'Rosgvardiya office for the Zaporizhzhia region' are actively conducting propaganda of 'patriotic education' among children, turning schools into militarized institutions. This militarization is carried out both in formal and informal education.
Active propaganda among schoolchildren
The occupants are actively conducting propaganda among schoolchildren with the aim of turning them into future soldiers. With the start of the new school year in the occupied territories, schools are introducing a new subject - 'Basics of Security and Defense of the Motherland'. Within the framework of this subject, children are taught the basics of firearm, tactical, medical, and other combat training.
This propaganda is taking place not only in schools but also in kindergartens. The occupants are trying to deprive Ukrainian children of any age of their national identity by implementing education with a direct military orientation.
