In the summer of 2025, the occupying 'ministry of property and land relations of the Republic of Crimea' decided to hold auctions for the seaports in Yalta and Evpatoria that were nationalized during Russia's annexation of Crimea. The initial prices for these port lots were announced to be quite high - over 1.5 billion rubles for Yalta port and almost 200 million rubles for Evpatoria port. Applications for participation in the auctions can be submitted until July 28, and the auction itself will take place on August 1. In addition to Yalta and Evpatoria, Russia also controls ports in Kerch and Feodosia, but using them can be complicated due to sanctions and the lack of its own cruise ships. Despite this, there are already plans for the development of passenger and yacht tourism. The future of the occupied ports may involve redevelopment for yacht or passenger directions, as increasing cargo traffic is not a priority. Information about a possible assassination of the commander of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation has also appeared on social networks.
