Olga Sumska on Her Post-War Relationship with Her Sister: 'I Keep Trying, but There’s a Wall'.
The Strained Bond Between Olga and Nataliya Sumska
According to TSN.ua: Olga Sumska has opened up about the difficult relationship with her older sister, Nataliya Sumska, which has become even more strained since the onset of the war in Ukraine. Both actresses share a common history in Ukrainian cinema, but their communication has now become limited. Expressing her feelings, Olga said she longs to hear Nataliya’s response, as she constantly reaches out but feels an impenetrable barrier between them.
'This is a very unpredictable process. It would be better for you to ask Nataliya Vyacheslavivna this question,' Olga stated.
The Situation with Her Daughter Antonina
Complicating matters further, Olga Sumska’s daughter, Antonina Paperna, moved to Russia before 2022. Antonina married Russian actor Volodymyr Yaglych, with whom she has two children. Since the start of the Russian invasion, Antonina Paperna has not made any public statements about the war, which has also fueled tension between the sisters. Olga noted that communication with Nataliya is challenging, and she is eager to understand her sister’s stance in this difficult situation.
Nataliya Sumska has a son, Vyacheslav Khostikoyev, but details about his relationship with Olga’s family remain unclear. The situation surrounding the Sumska family ties reflects the complexities that arise from political events and the war.
The dynamic between the Sumska sisters illustrates how personal relationships can suffer under the influence of external factors, particularly political ones. The war in Ukraine has not only caused physical separation but has also led to emotional distance among relatives who hold differing views on unfolding events. This case mirrors a broader reality where families in Ukraine face relationship difficulties due to divergent political stances and personal choices, further complicating an already challenging national situation.
