The reduction of US funding to the UN has led to the cessation of humanitarian programs in Ukraine
The volume of financial aid that the United States provides to the United Nations has been significantly reduced, leading to the halting of several humanitarian programs in Ukraine.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed his outrage over the reduction of funding from the US, initiated by Donald Trump. He noted that such actions do not align with America’s interests.
'The decrease of America’s humanitarian role may negatively impact its interests worldwide,' concluded Guterres, expressing hope that this decision will be reviewed after a thorough analysis.
As a result of the funding cuts, as stated by the UN Secretary-General, the provision of humanitarian aid in key regions of Ukraine has been halted.
In particular, cash transfer programs, which are very important for supporting around one million people, have been discontinued.
