OpenAI concludes development of its own artificial intelligence chip - Reuters.
The American company OpenAI plans to create its own chip for artificial intelligence by 2025. The aim of this move is to reduce dependence on Nvidia for chip supplies. OpenAI intends to manufacture its chips at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. factories, with mass production possible as early as 2026.
OpenAI's head, Sam Altman, previously stated the company's intention to create its own hardware for artificial intelligence. He also noted an increase in collaboration with Japanese investors and companies.
Additionally, OpenAI announced a new feature of the AI agent Deep research in its chatbot ChatGPT, which allows research using large volumes of information from the web.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the Stargate company project, which will attract $500 billion to expand artificial intelligence. This project involves OpenAI, SoftBank Group, and Oracle, and it aims to create 100,000 new jobs.
