Guardian uncovered 30 evaders: what schemes were used by conscripts.
Law enforcement officers discovered nearly 30 individuals subject to military service who attempted to evade service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of the third phase of the "Guardian" operation. This was reported by the press service of the National Police of Ukraine.
According to operational information from the National Police, more than 60 searches were conducted across Ukraine as part of this operation. Nearly 30 individuals were found to have used fake medical certificates to evade service. Among the figures are both civilians and military personnel.
The main scheme involved submitting false documents regarding health status or the need to care for sick relatives, which turned out to be forged during verification.
Penalties for evaders
As a result of investigative actions, numerous facts of using forged medical documents were recorded. Nearly 30 individuals were charged under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including evasion from military service, forging documents, and fraud.
- Part 4 of Article 409 (Evasion from military service by self-mutilation or by other means);
- Article 336 (Evasion from conscription during mobilization);
- Article 358 (Forging documents and their use);
- Part 3 of Article 190 (Fraud).
Recently, there have also been examples of judicial punishment for individuals who tried to evade military service.
