Stevedoring companies underpaid 500 million UAH in taxes: scheme revealed.
Stevedores did not pay half a billion UAH in taxes
Operators of cargo handling (stevedoring companies) developed a scheme to evade taxes totaling at least half a billion UAH. This was stated by the head of the Large Taxpayers Office Yevhen Bambiov in his blog.
'Thanks to schemes that reduce the tax base and move the profit point outside Ukraine, stevedoring companies underpaid at least 500 million UAH to the budget', - he wrote.
According to Bambiov, this is only a preliminary amount, which may be significantly higher after all checks are conducted. He also emphasized that the Odesa office of the Office has already assessed an additional 100 million UAH in taxes, which is currently being challenged in court.
In their scheme, stevedores use opaque mechanisms to control grain terminals that belong to non-residents - related parties. Such companies arrange payment for transshipment services through offshore intermediaries, distributing money between the Ukrainian operator and the non-resident company.
Recall that last week it was reported that the debt of Kyiv drivers for the transport tax exceeded 72 million UAH.
