Orban and Zelensky exchanged sharp statements regarding Ukraine's Eurointegration.
The situation between Ukraine and Hungary has escalated after the vote in support of Ukraine's accession to the European Union in Hungary.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is trying to drag Ukraine into the internal political disputes of his country and is hindering Ukraine's integration into the European community.
In response to the Ukrainian president's statement, Orban sharply reacted on social media: 'President Zelensky addressed the Hungarian people yesterday. Mr. President, what the Hungarian people think is not decided by the president in Kyiv or the bureaucrats in Brussels,' wrote the Prime Minister of Hungary.
He emphasized that without Hungary's support, Ukraine's accession to the EU is impossible, and the decision is a matter for Hungarian citizens.
President @ZelenskyyUa addressed the Hungarian people yesterday. Mr. President! What the Hungarian people think is not decided by the president in Kyiv or the bureaucrats in Brussels. There is no Ukrainian EU accession without Hungary. Every Hungarian will have their say on…

It is worth noting that Orban's words are not supported by data from the Hungarian opposition. According to their polls, about 70% of Hungarians actually support Ukraine's accession to the European Union, which contradicts the words of the Hungarian Prime Minister and indicates possible manipulation on his part.
Let us also remind that the Hungarian authorities intensified the anti-Ukrainian campaign during the referendum.
