84 Ukrainians returned from Russian captivity: among them are military personnel from 2014.
Ukrainian captives from a Russian prison were celebrated on August 14. And not without reason – 84 people returned home, among them both military and civilians. Some of them had been in captivity since 2014.
Relatives came out to meet them with photographs and posters, eagerly awaiting the first to return from captivity. Among the released are 53 military and 31 civilians. Among them is a man who spent 4013 days in a Russian prison, a primary school teacher who was imprisoned in 2019, and a young boy who had been held since 2016 when he was only eighteen.
According to foreign media reports, all those released from captivity need medical assistance.
Representatives of the Coordination Headquarters shared interesting stories of Ukrainians who were in Russian captivity. The youngest among them is only 26 years old.
On August 14, 84 Ukrainians returned home from Russian captivity, among them many military and civilians, some of whom had been held for several years. The released need medical assistance, and their stories of captivity have shocked even experienced servicemen.
