Oschadbank to Manage Pension Card Payments Under New 2026 Rules.
New Pension Payment System and Fees at Oschadbank Starting 2026
According to Novyny.live: Beginning in 2026, Ukrainian pensioners will receive their payments via card accounts at Oschadbank. This change introduces new regulations for opening pension accounts and revised service fees. Oschadbank, a state-owned joint-stock company, is the officially authorized banking institution for handling these state pension disbursements. This move is part of a broader digitalization push within Ukraine's public sector.
Citizens will be able to open accounts for pension accruals at any branch of the bank. To do so, they must submit an application and a package of documents to the Pension Fund of Ukraine. It is important to note that the option to open an account online is not currently anticipated under the initial rollout.
Service Fees for Pensioners in 2026
Regarding service fees for pensioners at Oschadbank in 2026, cash withdrawals at Oschadbank's own ATMs will be free of charge. Withdrawals of up to 10,000 hryvnias at ATMs operated by other financial institutions will also be free. However, if a pensioner decides to withdraw cash abroad, a fee of 1.5% of the withdrawal amount plus 35 hryvnias will apply.
The following documents will be required to open a pension account at Oschadbank:
- An application form
- Passport
- Tax identification number
- Proof of work history
- Documents confirming eligibility for benefits
- Photographs
- A bank reference statement
These innovations aim to simplify the pension receipt process for Ukrainians and provide convenient service conditions. The shift is designed to modernize delivery and reduce reliance on physical cash payments.
The implementation of the new rules for pension payments through Oschadbank in 2026 is part of the government's efforts to modernize Ukraine's social benefits system. It may also promote greater financial inclusion among retirees by providing access to modern banking services. While these changes could improve service quality for citizens, they will require adaptation from pensioners themselves, who will need to familiarize themselves with the new requirements and procedures.
