Trump will demand an unconditional ceasefire from Putin: details of the negotiations.
US President Donald Trump will demand that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin implement a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine during a meeting in Alaska, adding that this would be a gesture of goodwill from Russia. This information is reported by CNN, citing European diplomats who are aware of the details of Trump’s conversations with European leaders.
'President Trump has made it clear that he will approach Vladimir Putin with a request for an unconditional ceasefire,' CNN quotes one of the diplomats.
In addition, Trump will demand that further negotiations regarding Ukrainian territories be conducted only with the participation of the President of Ukraine. There is media speculation about possible proposals from Trump to Putin during the negotiations, but other sources believe that Trump may consider territorial concessions from Ukraine in favor of Russia. Currently, operations by the US Secret Service aimed at protecting both leaders are actively being prepared in Alaska, and their meeting times are already known.
UK Defense Minister John Healey emphasized that today’s meeting between Trump and Putin is an important 'first step' and hopes for a positive outcome.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has already stated that he is waiting for the results of this meeting and hopes for an improvement in the situation in Ukraine afterward. This meeting could open new opportunities for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in eastern Ukraine.Read also
