Negotiations between Ukraine and the USA continue in Berlin: what is known about the peace plan.
According to ТСН: Tomorrow, negotiations between the Ukrainian and American delegations regarding the US peace plan will continue in Berlin.
Today's talks lasted over five hours and will resume tomorrow morning. Specific proposals being discussed will not be publicly announced yet. However, it is clear that the US government, at least in the initial stages, considers these negotiations promising, as Trump has sent his delegation to Germany.
At the same time, Russia assesses the results of the meeting with skepticism, which is confirmed by the resumption of bombardments in Zaporizhzhia on Sunday afternoon.
Important figures participating in the negotiations
The German Chancellor Friedrich Merz left the meeting, which included Ukrainian and American delegations led by the US special envoy Steve Vitkoff, Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, and President Volodymyr Zelensky. The moderator was the Chancellor's assistant Gunther Sautter.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius noted that the composition of the participants from the American side is "not ideal, but a good sign." He commented:
"This is certainly far from an ideal composition for such negotiations. But, as they say, one can only dance with those who are on the dance floor. I very much welcome their arrival in Berlin today for the negotiations. It is good and necessary. This is a good sign to begin with".
President Zelensky had previously reported that the main topic of discussion would be finding ways to end Russia's war against Ukraine, as well as possible parameters for future agreements.
Negotiations in Berlin are an important stage in seeking a peaceful resolution to the conflict. The relevance of the topic and the participants involved indicate a serious approach to the discussion of the conditions for ending the war. The coming days may prove crucial for reaching agreements between the parties.
