Trump pressures Zelensky: what concessions are being discussed in negotiations with the Russian Federation.

The German publication BILD reports that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is under significant pressure from U.S. President Donald Trump, who is urging concessions. This pressure is intensified by internal political problems in Ukraine caused by corruption scandals.

Main issues of negotiations

BILD emphasizes that one of the 'most sensitive questions' concerns the situation in Donbas. Zelensky confirmed that Washington has put forward a controversial proposal to withdraw Ukrainian troops from part of the Donetsk region, which could become a 'demilitarized zone'.

However, Donbas is only one aspect of the negotiations. Issues regarding security guarantees for Ukraine, the reconstruction of ruined cities, and the fate of Russian assets frozen in Europe, which total more than 200 billion euros, will also be discussed.

According to information from The Wall Street Journal, U.S. special representative Steve Witkoff is scheduled to meet with Volodymyr Zelensky and leaders of European countries in Berlin. These negotiations are of great importance in the context of the White House's plans.

Meanwhile, Axios reports that the White House administration is prepared to provide Ukraine with guarantees based on Article 5 of NATO, which will be approved by Congress and have legal force. According to sources, three separate agreements regarding peace, security, and the reconstruction of Ukraine are planned.

The U.S. President also stated that the peace agreement for Ukraine, promoted by the American side, could be effective. He emphasized that negotiations are ongoing, and results may be known very soon.
