Negotiations on Ukraine enter 'critical stage', Trump.

Trump and Putin to discuss peace in Ukraine
US President Donald Trump announced a scheduled phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, set for March 18. The main goal of the negotiations is to discuss the possibility of achieving peace and a ceasefire in Ukraine.
'Tomorrow I will speak with President Putin of Russia to save the soldiers who are in a difficult situation, surrounded by Russian soldiers. If it weren't for me, they wouldn't be there anymore, but I managed to ensure that nothing happened to them... We will see if we can work out a peace agreement, ceasefire, and peace,' Trump said, as quoted by C-Span.
Trump also noted that negotiations on Ukraine are in a 'critical stage'. He plans to discuss the proposal for a 30-day ceasefire, as well as issues related to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and temporarily occupied territories.
The Kremlin confirmed the scheduled conversation between Trump and Putin.
White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt stated that 'we are ten yards away from peace, and we have never been closer to a peace agreement than now. And the president intends to do it.'
Regarding the discussion of territorial issues, the US National Security team has been in contact with the Ukrainian side and President Zelensky. 'This was part of the discussions between the president's team and the Ukrainian side regarding where these lines would be drawn,' the White House representative added.
