Zelensky on negotiations in the US: Russia must feel the necessity to end the war.

According to ТСН: The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his opinion on the negotiations in Florida (USA), noting that they have a constructive nature.

He emphasized that Russia must realize the necessity of a real end to the war, rather than viewing it as a political game. Unfortunately, according to him, the real signals from the RF are only negative: the offensive continues at the front, war crimes are being committed in border areas, and strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure continue. The President stressed the importance of the world not remaining indifferent to these events.

“I am grateful to Norway for its willingness to help further with both the pressure on Russia and the recovery from their strikes. Norway will also assist us with energy resilience, thank you. There is a shared feeling that after the work now in America by our diplomatic team, it will be important to hold consultations in a broader circle with European partners. I am thankful to everyone who is with Ukraine! Thank you, Jonas!” — concluded the Ukrainian leader.

Furthermore, it became known that Washington is proposing to hold a trilateral meeting with the participation of American, Ukrainian, and Russian delegations. Zelensky expressed doubts about the possible positive outcomes of this meeting.

“We had meetings in Turkey in such a format. While there was a result, and it was an exchange. I believe that it is not much of what we wanted, but it is very important,” he noted.

In his opinion, the outcome could be an agreement to meet the leaders, as some complex issues should be discussed at this level.

The negotiations taking place in the US are of key importance for the further development of events in the region. The importance of support from international partners, especially in the context of pressure on the aggressor and the recovery of Ukraine after the inflicted blows, cannot be underestimated. Especially in this critical period, when every decision can significantly affect the situation at the front and in the country as a whole.
