Negotiations in Saudi Arabia: The US Will Determine the Seriousness of Ukraine's Peace Intentions - Media.
The Ukrainian delegation will meet with American officials in Saudi Arabia to discuss the possibility of organizing financial support for Russia to end the war.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that he plans to travel to Saudi Arabia to continue diplomatic efforts towards achieving peace. It is expected that he will be joined by representatives of the US government, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Wolk.
'We want to see if the Ukrainians are interested not just in peace, but in realistic peace,' said an official spokesperson.
US President Donald Trump expressed optimism regarding the negotiations, stating that significant progress is possible. However, Ukraine's European allies warned that Kyiv should not rush into negotiations with Russia without strengthening its positions.
'President Putin is not seeking peace and intends to attack other European countries if the Russian counteroffensive in Ukraine ends in defeat,' Zelensky said.
In February, American officials met with representatives of Russia to discuss the possibility of restoring working relations following the change of the American president. However, critics warn that such steps could strengthen Russia's position and complicate the achievement of a peace agreement.
