Ukraine and Russia Ceasefire: What Do Soldiers Think About It.
ABC News journalists visited Ukraine and observed an ambulance returning from the front, where it had delivered wounded soldiers. They asked the fighters if they believed Putin's statements about peace. Among the soldiers was one particularly sad fighter who had lost three comrades during a drone attack.
The journalists asked the brigade commander whether those casualties should fight for Ukraine if military aid from the US were to stop. The commander replied that if they lose support, they will fight with their bare hands.
When asked about his attitude towards Putin's words about peace, the soldier smiled and said that Putin is lying; he has been fighting since 2014 and knows the price of Putin's wars.
The journalists also asked him if he was worried that Trump trusts Putin's words. The commander replied that Trump is the American president, he was elected, he cannot be a fool.
When the conversation turned to the meeting between Trump and Zelensky, the soldier speculated that perhaps this is just Trump's style of work and people do not see the full picture.
ABC News emphasized that none of the Ukrainian soldiers openly criticized Trump; they want an end to the war and understand that Trump may play a key role in this. But they are not going to give up what they are fighting for.
Against the Ceasefire and for Victory
Lieutenant Colonel Bohdan Krotevych, known as 'Tavria', spoke out against the ceasefire, believing that Ukraine can win the war. He believes that first, they need to properly defend themselves and then attack. Russia intends to change Zelensky to gain control over Ukraine and hold the situation in its hands.
