The government of Ukraine has approved new rules for compensation of expenses for the temporary accommodation of internally displaced persons

According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated December 31, 2024, starting from March 1, 2025, the program for compensation of expenses for the temporary accommodation of internally displaced persons will be managed by the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

According to the new rules, property owners who provide accommodation for displaced persons for free will be able to receive compensation of 450 hryvnias per person. To do this, it is necessary to submit the relevant documents to the Pension Fund of Ukraine - a notification and an application in the established form.

The methods of submitting documents can be either in paper form or electronically through the web portal of electronic services of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, which significantly simplifies the procedure for citizens.

One of the features of the new rules is the automatic extension of payments. Compensation is granted for six months and continues for the next half-year period after verification of the right to receive it without the need for additional applications.

However, the resolution provides for certain restrictions. Compensation will not be paid if the property owner has family ties with the displaced persons, if the internally displaced persons do not reside at the specified address for more than a month or have been abroad for more than 30 calendar days in a row, or if false information is provided in the application or notification.

Earlier, the Pension Fund of Ukraine already responded to questions regarding the need for a repeated application for rent subsidies.
