A man from the Odessa region was found attempting to set fire to a soldier's apartment, misled by being told that it belonged to a collaborator. The police arrested a 25-year-old suspect who had been recruited by the Russian special services.
The soldier's wife contacted the police after someone attempted to set their apartment on fire in the Primorsky district of Odessa. The woman extinguished the fire in time, preventing it from spreading. The next morning, the police apprehended the suspect - a resident of the Odessa region.
According to the investigation, the man met a girl through a chatbot in a messenger, after which he was tasked with exposing a collaborator working for Russia. Having set fire to the entrance door of the apartment, he filmed the crime and fled.
What Punishment Awaits
The suspect has been notified of suspicion for attempted intentional damage to another's property by arson. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
Earlier, there was an attempt to set fire to the military enlistment office in Odessa region, and a mother and daughter carried out sabotage for the FSB.
