Deputy of the Kyiv City State Administration informed of suspicion due to emergency metro: details of the case.
Suspicion of the KCSA official for official negligence
The deputy director of the Transport Infrastructure Department of the KCSA has been informed of suspicion of official negligence. He was aware of the emergency condition of the metro in Kyiv but did not take the necessary measures to eliminate it.
The National Police informed law enforcement about this case on August 13. The case concerns the situation that occurred in December 2023, when part of the metro began to flood between the stations 'Demiivska' and 'Lybidska'. For 14 years there have been destructions of structures, and the first leaks of water were detected as early as March 2011.
From 2011 to 2023, repairs were carried out without the participation of relevant scientific specialists who could determine the causes of the damage and provide recommendations. The deputy director of the Transport Infrastructure Department, knowing about the critical condition of the tunnel, did not organize proper repair or reconstruction that could have prevented the accident.
As a result, he was charged with official negligence, which led to serious consequences. The official faces up to five years in prison.
Earlier in the KCSA
Ruslan Kravchenko had previously stated that the city council was aware of the problems in the metro but did not take any measures to address them. In addition, the former director of the Social and Veteran Policy Department of the KCSA was taken into custody for misusing budget funds.
In the Kyiv City Council, a situation arose where an official responsible for the metro was charged in connection with the emergency condition of the transport infrastructure. It turned out that he was aware of the problem but did not take appropriate measures to eliminate it. This led to serious consequences and could result in five years of imprisonment. Changes had previously been made in the KCSA due to violations related to the misuse of budget funds.
