This was reported by Russian Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov.
Details of the conversation
According to Ushakov, the phone conversation was initiated by Trump, who wanted to discuss several important issues before the upcoming meeting with Zelensky in Miami.
During the conversation, the parties decided to continue the discussion after Trump's meeting with the Ukrainian leader. As Ushakov noted, the next conversation between Trump and Putin will take into account the results of these negotiations.
Discussion of the conflict in Ukraine
Furthermore, during the current phone conversation, Putin and Trump touched on the topic of the war in Ukraine. They expressed a joint opinion that a temporary ceasefire can only prolong the conflict.
