Mobilization deferments may be ignored: how to avoid problems with the military enlistment office

Citizens who wish to obtain a deferment cannot be called up for mobilization while their application is being considered. But unfortunately, things do not always go as planned.

According to lawyer Anastasia Shvytkina, conscripts applying for a deferment may encounter problems at every step of this process.

'Without confirmation of the application for deferment, it is very difficult to prove this fact. Sometimes conscripts can be called up for service even if their application for deferment is still under consideration or has not yet been submitted,' explained the lawyer.

To avoid such situations, one should apply as soon as possible and insist on having it registered on the day of submission, as well as obtain official confirmation.

'If the deferment is not arranged properly, one can be mobilized even if there are grounds for exemption. To avoid this, it is necessary to have all the necessary documents and confirmations,' emphasized Shvytkina.

All applications for deferment must be considered by the military enlistment office, even in cases where their author is wanted or has violated military accounting.

It is worth noting that there is now an opportunity to obtain deferment for educators as part of the 'Reserve+'. This is yet another improvement in the field of military accounting and mobilization.
