Police Officer Near the Border: How a Senior Inspector Helped Draft Dodgers Escape.
A Senior Police Inspector Has Been Detained for Helping Military Draftees Leave the Country
According to inkorr.com: A senior police inspector from Kyiv is under investigation for participating in a scheme that facilitated the illegal export of military draftees abroad. This information was disclosed by the State Bureau of Investigations.
According to the SBU data, the law enforcement officer organized the transportation of 'clients' from Kyiv to border areas with Romania, receiving six thousand euros per person for this. Payments were made before the departure of his accomplice, who was also involved in criminal activities.
'The police officer disguised himself while going on the route, changed numbers, and installed beacons on the car, giving him an advantage on the road. In case of a check, he would show his service ID, using the excuse that he was transporting officials for an important task. To avoid detection, all passengers were also dressed in police uniforms,' the SBU reported.
The situation was discovered on August 23, 2025, when law enforcement stopped a group of fugitives along with the police officer in Bukovina. After checking the documents, reports were drawn up for violations and summonses were issued.
The senior inspector is currently suspected of serious violations, including assisting several individuals in smuggling across the border. Such actions can result in up to seven years in prison under Part 2 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The investigation is being conducted by the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The uncovering of this scheme for exporting military draftees indicates serious problems in the system of security and legality control in the country. The actions of the senior police inspector became known thanks to the efforts of the State Bureau of Investigations, and the case is still under the control of the regional prosecutor's office, indicating the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies in the fight against corruption and crime.Read also
