The Ukrainian and American delegations held a meeting in Saudi Arabia and noted positive results. The Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, also shared his impressions after meeting with the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
I am glad to hear these words that we repeat every day in Warsaw, Kyiv, and Brussels. Turkey and Poland desire a just peace. We all understand what this entails. We equally assess the results of the negotiations that concluded in Saudi Arabia between American and Ukrainian representatives. We are positively inclined towards this first outcome. We are very pleased that both the American and Ukrainian sides also express full satisfaction with these initial steps.
Tusk emphasized that despite emotions and conflicts, the goal for Ukraine, the USA, and their allies is peace and a ceasefire.
The only question today is the reaction of Russia. Today we are waiting for a clear response from Ankara, Warsaw, Kyiv, Washington, and Brussels. Is the other side ready to seriously respond to the proposal for a ceasefire and peace negotiations? We hope very much that this is the case.
Tusk also appealed to Turkey with an attempt to join the conflict resolution process.
I made a concrete proposal to President Erdoğan for Turkey to take on more responsibility for the peace process, stability, and security in the region. We are ready to cooperate with our Turkish friends in the field of defense and defense industry. Today we made a historic breakthrough. We clearly understand what we want for Ukraine, the region, and Europe.
The results of the negotiations between Ukraine and the USA have drawn reactions worldwide.
