Cyberattacks on Poland's critical infrastructure have increased

According to inkorr.com: The Minister of Digital Affairs of Poland, Krzysztof Gwiazdowski, reported that this year the number of cyberattacks on the country's critical infrastructure has tripled, including those originating from Russia. From the beginning of the year to the end of the third quarter of 2022, there were 170,000 cyber incidents recorded in Poland, many of which are related to Russian activities.

Gwiazdowski noted that between 2,000 and 4,000 cyber incidents are registered daily in Poland, of which 700 to 1,000 require urgent intervention due to potential consequences. The Minister emphasized that Russia is the biggest threat, attacking the country's critical infrastructure.

'Russia's actions pose the greatest threat as they are aimed at attacking the critical infrastructure on which the stable functioning of the country depends,' emphasized Gwiazdowski.

The increase in cyberattacks on critical infrastructure in Poland raises serious concerns. The authorities are actively taking measures to prevent such incidents and strengthen cybersecurity in the country.

Poland, like other European states, faces new challenges in the field of cybersecurity, highlighting the need for close cooperation among countries to effectively combat cyber threats. The strong emphasis on improving defense systems prioritizes the protection of infrastructure that ensures the vital functioning of the country, especially amid rising tensions on the international stage.
