Five People Injured in Amsterdam City Center: The Attacker May Be a Ukrainian.


A Man from the Donetsk Region Attacked Passersby with a Knife in Amsterdam
Law enforcement in Amsterdam detained a 30-year-old citizen of Ukraine who attacked five people with a knife in the city center a few days ago. According to media reports, the attacker had documents in different names, complicating the identification process. The Amsterdam police reported that a specialized criminal department and a terrorism officer are involved in the investigation of the incident.
It is currently unknown where exactly in Donetsk the detained man is from. Information about other documents found with him has not been disclosed. The victims of the attack, among whom are two Americans, a Pole, a woman from Belgium, and a girl from the Netherlands, suffered injuries.
A British tourist who stopped the criminal and held him until the police arrived was commended by the Mayor of Amsterdam for his bravery and emphasized that the Briton did not wish to reveal his name. The attacker has been detained and sent to custody and is to appear in court on April 1 for a decision on the preventive measure.
