Hunters' certificates at a low price - officials are being tried in Odesa.
Officials of the Southern Forest Hunting Management issued hunting certificates to men for money and were detained. The case has already been sent to court, reports the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office.
Details of the case
The head of the management organized a scheme to receive bribes for issuing a hunter's certificate, involving his deputy and a member of the examination commission. The officials received 2,000 hryvnias for 'successfully' passing exams for candidates. In total, the participants of the scheme received more than 100,000 hryvnias in bribes. They were detained while receiving another sum.
What punishment threatens
The figures have been notified of suspicion under the article of the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding the proper benefit of a public official, which can lead to imprisonment from five to ten years with confiscation of property.
As a result of the investigation, it was found that officials were engaged in bribery for issuing hunting certificates. They face serious punishment under Ukrainian law for this.
