Poundland to close dozens of stores: which addresses are set for liquidation.
The Poundland store chain has launched a major clearance sale - with discounts of up to 90% at one of its stores. The branch in the Killingworth shopping center in Newcastle is slashing prices ahead of its closure on Sunday, August 24.
According to The Sun: The store previously offered a 75% discount but has now raised it to 90% in an attempt to clear stock before closing.
This news has come as a blow to local residents, who stated they are 'mourning' the closure of the store.
This is not the only Poundland store set to close this weekend. The chain has confirmed that 48 locations will close this month.

The Poundland store has 800 branches across the country, but the company plans to significantly reduce this number to 650-700.
This includes 68 stores that will close by mid-October, as well as additional outlets that will close when their lease terms expire without renewal.
The Poundland store chain has announced a major clearance sale and the closure of some of its branches in various cities as part of a review of the company's development strategy. This event has caused sadness among local residents but has also sparked significant interest in the sale due to the high discounts being offered ahead of the store closures.
