According to FREEДOM: In the early hours of today, August 23, Russian troops launched a strike on Ukraine with 49 strike UAVs of the Shahed ('Shahid') type and various types of simulator drones. This was reported by the Command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The strike UAVs were launched from the directions of Kursk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia).
The aerial attack was repelled by radio-electronic warfare (REW) units and unmanned systems, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
'According to preliminary data, as of 08:30, the air defense has shot down/suppressed 36 enemy UAVs of the Shahed type and simulator drones of various types in the north, east, and center of the country,' the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
13 drones were recorded hitting seven locations in the Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Sumy regions.
Recall that on August 22, the Russian occupation army shelled the private sector of the city of Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region. As a result of enemy strikes, three people were injured, and numerous houses were damaged.
