New Ukrainian Ministry Established: Who Will Lead It.
Launch of the Ministry for Communities, Territories, and Internally Displaced Persons
According to UATV: On July 18, 2023, Ukraine officially established the Ministry for Communities, Territories, and Internally Displaced Persons. The announcement was made by Viktor Mykyta, deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine. This new government body is designed to tackle key issues related to local communities, regional territories, and internally displaced persons—areas critical to maintaining the country's social stability.
Vitaliy Bezgin has been appointed to lead the newly formed ministry. Its creation follows a shift in political strategy announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on July 12. This move reflects the government's effort to address current challenges and respond to evolving societal needs.
Why This Ministry Matters
The formation of the Ministry for Communities, Territories, and Internally Displaced Persons marks a significant step toward improving governance in sectors that are vital for Ukraine, especially amid ongoing war and social upheaval. With a rising number of internally displaced people and a pressing need for infrastructure recovery, this ministry could serve as a key vehicle for implementing state policies aimed at improving citizens' quality of life.
