Povoroznyk may return to the position of Klitschko's deputy.
The Deputy Mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko, Mykola Povoroznyk, who organized a barbecue banquet on the Day of Mourning, may return to his position. The court granted the application of his lawyer to recognize the decision on his dismissal as unlawful and to annul it.
The head of the Public Council at the Kyiv City State Administration, Hennadiy Kryvosheya, wrote about this on Facebook on Wednesday, July 23.
Thus, on July 11, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv granted the application of lawyer Mykola Povoroznyk to recognize the decision of the Kyiv City Council on expressing no confidence in and dismissing the deputy mayors as unlawful. The court also prohibited the Kyiv City Council and the Kyiv City State Administration, as well as their officials, from taking any actions aimed at implementing this decision.
'This includes access to office premises and the use of communal property, transport, etc. Thus, in fact, the first deputy mayor can return to work,'said Kryvosheya.
He reminded that the Kyiv City Council has 15 days to appeal this ruling.
It should be noted that on April 26, footage appeared on the Internet showing a party that Povoroznyk held on the Day of Mourning for those killed as a result of the massive attack by Russia on April 24, which claimed the lives of 12 Kyivans. On June 10, the Kyiv City Council expressed no confidence in Povoroznyk. He was suspended from the position of deputy mayor of Kyiv only on June 30.
After the court granted the application of lawyer Mykola Povoroznyk regarding the recognition of the decision on his dismissal as unlawful, the Deputy Mayor of Kyiv may return to work. Furthermore, the court prohibited the execution of the decision of the Kyiv City Council that recognized no confidence in Povoroznyk and prohibited any actions aimed at implementing this decision.
