Issues with Identifying Mobilization Center Staff

According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets has raised concerns over staff at Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centers hiding their faces and identification during mobilization efforts. He emphasized that such actions make it impossible to identify those carrying out official duties, which is a critical issue for public accountability. This statement comes amid a broader national effort to balance military needs with civil rights during wartime.

Roman Istomin, a representative of the Poltava Regional Recruitment Center, argued that military personnel have a right to privacy.

“I believe a servicemember is a person and may wish for their face not to be shown on social networks,” Istomin stated.

The Need for Transparency in Mobilization Processes

Lubinets had previously reported instances in the Volyn region where recruitment center staff obstructed a monitoring group, further confirming systemic issues with the openness of mobilization. He stated that

“this is a violation of the rules governing mobilization measures.”

The lack of clear identification among recruitment staff during call-ups casts doubt on the transparency and accountability of military processes. This could have serious consequences for public trust in military institutions and for the protection of human rights.
