Great-Grandson of Brezhnev Captured After Serving as a Sapper in War Against Ukraine.
The Story of Anton Milayev
According to Espreso.tv: In the fall of 2022, 45-year-old Anton Milayev, the great-grandson of Leonid Brezhnev, decided to join the war against Ukraine as a sapper. He last communicated with his family in November 2022. Months later, his mother, Irina Kuznetsova, learned that her son was being held captive in the Kherson region.
Milayev is the adopted grandson of Galina Brezhneva, daughter of the former General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Leonid Brezhnev. His grandfather, Yevgeny Milayev, was a Soviet circus performer. As of now, there has been no official confirmation from the Ukrainian side regarding Anton's capture.
Military Operations and Their Consequences
In April 2023, Ukraine took the position of the occupiers for the first time using drones and ground robotic systems. This information indicates an intensification of military operations in the region, but the further fate of Anton Milayev remains unknown.
The case of Anton Milayev highlights the complexity and ambiguity of military conflicts, where personal stories intertwine with national events. The appearance of members of well-known families on the front lines can draw additional attention to the war and its consequences, as well as to the issue of prisoners who remain outside official information from both sides. This incident could become one of the symbols of a conflict that has been ongoing for several years and carries broad humanitarian implications.
