Border guards recovered the body of a 39-year-old Ukrainian from the Tisza River.
The body of a man was found in the Tisza River
Yesterday, December 17, the body of a man was found in the Tisza River. The deceased turned out to be a 39-year-old citizen of Ukraine from Kyiv region. This was reported by the Western Regional Administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
The man's body was found in the river at a distance of five meters from the Romanian bank, between the settlements of Bedevlya (Ukraine) and Remeta (Romania).
“It is likely that the man fell victim to traffickers, who, for the sake of profit, putting the lives of their 'clients' in mortal danger, organize the illegal crossing of the border by conscripted individuals,” the border guards stated.
It was noted that this is already the second case of finding a body in the river at the border during December 2024.
Let us remind you that earlier, in Romania, a 28-year-old Ukrainian, Vladislav Duda, was rescued after he fell into a mountain gorge. During the rescue operation, it was discovered that he had a kitten named Persik under his jacket.
The Counterintelligence Service of the Security Service uncovered a 52-year-old resident of Zhytomyr region, who was an administrator of one of the Telegram channels for “draft dodgers’ schemes” and collaborated with the FSB of the Russian Federation. This person was detained in August this year when he was attempting to swim across a section of the Dnipro River at the Belarus border, aiming to reach the Russian Federation.
Previously, the border guards of the Volyn detachment stopped an attempt to illegally transport persons across the border at the “Yahodyn” checkpoint. During the inspection of the bus trunk, two men who were trying to get to Poland were found.
