According to Espreso.tv: A Russian strike inflicted damage on the cargo ship VENTURO. Responding to the distress call, naval personnel from the Ukrainian Navy sailed out to provide assistance, successfully evacuating 17 civilian crew members, all of whom are Filipino nationals. Tragically, one civilian lost their life in the incident.

Conflict's Toll on Maritime Security

Russia’s ongoing assaults on Ukrainian ports continue to destabilize maritime safety in the region. Notably, Moscow withdrew from the Black Sea Grain Initiative in July 2023, a move that further disrupted shipping operations in Ukraine.
