Border Guards from the 'Hart' Brigade Halt Russian Breakthrough: 38 Killed, 6 Captured.
Russian Losses in the Southern Slobozhansky Direction
According to Novyny.live: Personnel from the 'Hart' border guard brigade successfully prevented Russian forces from crossing Ukraine's state border in the Southern Slobozhansky direction, inflicting significant casualties on the enemy. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 38 Russian soldiers were eliminated over the past week. Additionally, 29 occupiers were wounded, and six Russian military personnel were taken prisoner.
It is worth noting that as of June 16, 2025, the daily reports from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have updated the names of combat operation directions. The Kharkiv direction has been officially redesignated as the Southern Slobozhansky direction, highlighting the strategic importance of this area. During the week, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv 24 times, but Ukrainian troops were well-prepared to repel these assaults.
Effectiveness of Ukrainian Border Guards
In this context, despite numerous enemy attempts, Ukrainian border guards continue to carry out their missions effectively, ensuring the defense of the state border.
The elimination of Russian military personnel in the Southern Slobozhansky direction underscores the significance of this territory in the ongoing military conflict between Ukraine and Russia. The renaming of combat operation directions reflects a shift in strategic priorities and the adaptation of Ukraine's armed forces to new warfare conditions. A key factor is also the heightened readiness of Ukrainian forces to repel attacks, which may indicate changes in combat tactics and the training of military units.
