PrivatBank Shuts Down Branch in Druzhkivka Due to Combat Risks.
PrivatBank Closes Its Branch in Druzhkivka
According to Novyny.live: PrivatBank is closing its branch in Druzhkivka, Donetsk Oblast, due to dangers arising from active combat. This decision was necessitated by a worsening security situation in the region. The branch had operated continuously since the start of the full-scale invasion, but given the current threats, the bank is forced to suspend its operations. This closure highlights the ongoing challenges for businesses operating in eastern Ukraine.
As of today, 11 PrivatBank branches continue to function in Donetsk Oblast. However, closing the Druzhkivka branch is a critical step to ensure the safety of both employees and clients. In connection with this, PrivatBank representatives stated:
“It is always painful for us to make such decisions, but we are forced to stop the work of the PrivatBank branch in Druzhkivka.”
Services Relocated to Kramatorsk
The teams that worked in Druzhkivka will continue their activities in Kramatorsk, located 20 kilometers away. This will allow for customer service to be provided from a safer location. It is important to note that on February 1, the occupiers struck Sloviansk in Donetsk Oblast with high-explosive aerial bombs, which was another reason for heightened security measures in the region. The conflict has forced many institutions to make difficult operational adjustments.
The closure of the PrivatBank branch in Druzhkivka and similar decisions underscore the prolonged and complex situation in Donetsk Oblast, where hostilities continue. Amid growing danger, banks and other enterprises are compelled to adapt their operations to guarantee the safety of their clients and staff. Relocating services to Kramatorsk is a step toward preserving banking services for the population during wartime.
