Student Vladyslava Korennaya stated that rector Mykhailo Poplavskiy harassed her. According to her, in January 2021, she ended up in a car that took her outside of Kyiv. A guard asked her to turn on airplane mode on her phone so that she wouldn't be found. This is how the girl ended up in a suburban house, where she was offered to drink cognac. After refusing, she was insulted. Later, she was offered to play billiards 'for a kiss or money'.

Vladyslava Korennaya claims that the rector flaunted his influence, talking about his harassment. She approached him after several hours of pressure. In her message, she does not mention the name of the rector, but in the comments, she states that it is about Mykhailo Poplavskiy. The graduate also claims that similar cases of the rector's disgusting behavior have occurred with other girls, including minors.

Poplavskiy has not yet commented on these accusations.

Other accusations

Earlier, the girl accused a lecturer from the Kyiv National University of Theater, Cinema and Television named after Ivan Karpenko-Kary of sexual harassment, as well as the artistic director of the 'Young Theater' Andriy Bilois. He stated that he filed a complaint with the police in response to these accusations. Former students and actresses who collaborated with Bilois also intend to contact the police. The Karpenko-Kary University stated that it has initiated an official investigation and has not received complaints about Bilois's actions.

Previously, students had already reported harassment by the lecturer of the Kyiv National University of Theater, Cinema, and Television named after I. Karpenko-Kary, Volodymyr Talashko. One of them even publicly stated that the man raped her when she was a minor. As a result, Talashko was dismissed, but the police found no evidence of this crime.
